How to set up Belkin router?

Step 1 – Install Belkin router

1. First of all, unbox your Belkin router.
2. Take an ethernet cable and connect it to the modem to Belkin router’s internet port.
3. Then take another ethernet cable and connect that cable from Belkin router to PC.
4. Power on your ISP modem as well as Belkin router and then wait for some time. Now, check the LED lights, if they are blinking or not. There may be solid blue, green light or orange light.

If your Belkin router’s orange light is blinking then you need to go through this procedure -
a) Turn off your Belkin router, wait for a minute and then turn it on.
b) Also, turn off your modem as well as computer, wait for a minute and then again turn them on.
c) Once the devices will be turned on, wait for 1 minute and then check if any light is blinking on the router.
d) After that, you need to check the cable connection between your Belkin router and modem. Confirm that modem is properly connected to internet port of Belkin router.
e) Then check PPPoE settings. Check the username and password for Belkin router. Also, check the firmware update and confirm that your device has an updated firmware. If you have to update the firmware then navigate to Belkin official website.
Step 2 – Setup Belkin router
After installing Belkin router, its time to setup Belkin router.
1. Open the web browser of your choice and then type “192.168.2.1” in the address bar.
2. You are now redirected to setup page where you have to tap on “Detect my connection”.
3. Once you click on “Detect my connection”, you have to wait for few moments.
4. After verifying internet, you are redirected to Wi-Fi settings window where you have to choose Wi-Fi name and password.
5. After that, you have to check for the firmware update so you have to wait for a while.
6. Once firmware gets updated, you can see “Take me to the dashboard” option.

Connecting Windows computer to Wi-Fi network -
Before connecting Windows computer to Belkin Wi-Fi network, make sure you have wireless network name as well as the wireless security key.

Windows 7/ Vista – Tap on Network icon and then choose wireless network name. After that, click on Connect button. In the Security Key field, enter wireless network password and hit OK.

Windows XP – Press right click on Wireless connection icon and then choose the option “View Available Wireless Networks”. Choose “Wireless Network Name” and then click on “Connect”. Then enter Network key and then click on Connect.

Windows 8/8.1 – From your keyboard, press Windows key + D. Then click on Network icon and then choose your wireless network name. Click on Connect. After that, you have to enter your network security key and then hit Next.

Windows 10 – Go to system tray and then click on Wi-Fi icon. Then choose your Network name and then click on Connect. If your network is security enabled then you have to enter the Network key.
